Position Summary

Performs general and routine cleaning to ensure a safe, clean, environment. Manages work processes, quality, service, and costs in manner consistent with customer satisfaction. Performs additional duties as requested. Interacts with resident and families based on knowledge of periods of growth and development.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Those associates hired prior to 8/2/2015 will be “grandfathered” in without a High school diploma or equivalent.

Core Job Responsibilities

Maintains Clean Work Assignment in Resident Areas:

• Follows all policies and procedures pertaining to maintaining clean working assignments in resident areas, adhering to all safety requirements and infection control procedures
• Ensures resident rooms and other areas are dust free by daily dusting of windowsills, blinds, beds, TVs and medical equipment
• Ensures floors are clean by daily dust mopping and damp mopping
• Cleans bathrooms according to policy and procedure and ensures linen is removed from floor
• Empties trash daily , wiping down and collecting any lose trash, cleans walls, mirrors, etc. per policy and procedure

Maintains Clean Work Assignment in Public Areas:

• Complies with and follows all policies and procedures pertaining to maintaining clean working assignments in public areas
• Timely and thoroughly cleans assigned hallways, nurse’s stations and break rooms appropriately

Maintains Clean Work Assignment in Interior Areas:

• Timely follows all policies and procedures pertaining to maintaining clean working assignments in interior areas
• Ensures assigned classrooms, conference room, offices, utility rooms, housekeeping closets and supply rooms are neat and clean according to policy, advising supervisor of any supplies that are needed an levels of inventory

Sanitation Responsibilities:

• Follows all facility and departmental policies as well as local, State and Federal policies and procedures pertaining to cleaning and sanitation practices
• Completes assigned routes of sanitation pick-up per day; transports waste in proper container according to policy and procedure; separates infectious/hazardous waste from regular waste per policy; handles recycling products/waste according to policy; ensures containers are lined and have lids in assigned route according to policy; washes trash containers according to policy

Floor Care Responsibilities:

• Strictly follows all safety and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to floor care responsibilities
• Cleans and sanitizes wet floor areas during regular cleaning and assisting with spills and accidents, utilizing equipment such as signs to ensure proper and immediate safe attention is given
• Maintains assigned floor areas, floor baseboard and corners up to standard according to policy (i.e., floor shiny and clean, baseboards free of wax/marks and corners clean)
• Cleans and extracts carpet according to policy to ensure no dirty spots; ensures daily that equipment is clean before returning to storage area

Policy and Procedures:

• Immediately communicates safety, sanitation and infection controls concerns or issues to supervisor
• Follows proper protocol and procedures required and necessary in reporting such concerns
• Other Duties as assigned
