As a staff member providing clinical expertise you will be responsible for providing excellence in patient care, collaborative and comprehensive care based on patient and/or family needs, and quality and efficient services. Staff will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SWHS Core Values and the hospitals mission statement.

Ø Knowledge and understanding of cleaning procedures.
Ø Understands and practices good body mechanics.
Ø Understands proper handling of bio-hazardous waste and chemicals.
Ø Understands and practices infection control and isolation procedures.
Ø Must have ability to interpret and communicate/read/understand in English in written and verbal material to perform essential job functions.
2. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Ø Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
Ø Previous experience buffing, burnishing, stripping and/or waxing floors preferred.
3. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ø Exposure to solvents, chemicals, and cleaning solutions as applied to departmental MSDS sheet.
Ø Must use personal protective equipment/devices to avoid direct contact with blood and body fluids, sharps, chemicals, etc. as they apply to each department.
Ø Possible exposure to spills of mercury and/or other hazardous chemicals from other departments.
Ø Operation of heavy equipment: floor buffer, carpet extractors, vacuum cleansers, etc.
