Job description
JOB SUMMARY: The Event Porter maintains the appearance of the restaurant & Catering areas, and other designated meeting areas in the best condition possible. Set up may include beverage and food stations as scheduled or requested. Assists with any special event or group event booked by group sales or the Food & Beverage team. Is responsible for the set up/tear down and service needs related to Food & Beverage Special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check assignments upon arrival to shift and continuously check assignments throughout shift for changes and updates.
- Set, maintain, refill, and break down water and beverage stations.
- Set up and maintain food stations for special events, meetings etc.
- Set, maintain and break down special events, meetings etc.
- Set/dress tables or provide a clean wiped surface on tops not requiring linen.
- Handle table linen and skirting as directed or as needed.
- Set, arrange and break down staging, chairs, rolling bars and backs, tables, easels, and all other relevant furniture and equipment.
- Properly store all furniture and equipment safely in designated storage areas.
- Report all damaged furniture and equipment to Manager or Supervisor.
- Handle guest interactions in the prescribed fashion.
- Set up, break down and arrange all hotel furniture applicable to each special event including but not limited to the pool deck & restaurant furniture.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Honolulu Liquor Commission Blue Card
- ServSafe Certification
- Strong communication skills with customers and staff, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational aptitude
- Eye for detail
- Must enjoy working on a team and embrace change
