Job Description
The Event and Multimedia Technician is responsible for the preparation, execution, and break-down of live events needs on the Jackson County Campus. Incumbent works with college employees and external stakeholders for on-campus events. The Event and Multimedia Technician reports to the Assistant Dean for the Learning Resources Center on the Jackson County Campus.

Job Duties
1. Control, distribution, and setups of all audio/visual equipment belonging to the Jackson County Campus.
2. Preparation (set up), execution, and break-down of equipment when requested.
3. Maintain equipment inventory records.
4. In coordination with College administration, review audio/visual needs of the Jackson County Campus to insure the equipment is up-to-date and facilitates excellence for MGCCC related events. Plan for and order new equipment as older equipment becomes obsolete.
5. Provide minor maintenance on audio, video, and/or multimedia equipment.
6. Assist with campus events and outside organizations using campus facilities requiring audio/visual support.
7. Preparation (set up) and operation/oversight of sound systems for visiting groups using performance and event spaces, such as the auditorium, Estuarine Education Center, Warner Peter Administration Building Board Room, etc. …. This includes, but is not limited to, operation of sound board, setting audio levels, setting up and operating speakers/monitors, establishing Internet access, and setting up presentation material (e.g., PowerPoint).
8. Preparation (set up) and operation/oversight of lighting system for visiting groups using performance spaces, such as the auditorium, Estuarine Education Center, Warner Peter Administration Building Board Room, etc. …. This includes, but is not limited to, operation of light board, setting lighting levels and scenes, and setting up and operating various lighting fixtures.
9. Assist with video streaming for events college-wide as requested.
10. Provide campus employees instruction on audio, visual, and video projection equipment usage.
11. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, as required.
12. Prepares and keeps current AV equipment operations, including a small sound system and layman manual for operation of sound system and equipment when the Event and Multimedia Technician is not available.
13. Manage the Media Services budget and departmental purchases.
14. Maintain and control circulation of Media Center materials and equipment.
15. Committed to ensuring superior customer service and supporting other college employees.
16. Provide audio/visual support on other campuses and centers when requested, especially for big events (e.g., athletic events, Faculty Convocation, etc.).
17. Work under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Dean of LRC.
18. Assist in the production of studies, evaluations, and research for the continued development and improvement of Campus events and outside events/entertainment hosted on the Jackson County Campus.
19. Able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment- live events.
20. Lead an event team while being a team player within the many characters and personalities that use college facilities. This role requires strong technical acumen and expertise to handle intense, live-event situations.
21. In coordination with appropriate college personnel, assist with the implementation of audio/visual technology efforts to improve effectiveness of the Jackson County Campus and in response to Jackson County Campus needs and requirements.
22. Meets required training hours and upgrades skill and performance through the Employee Development Program.
23. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for the Learning Resources Center on the Jackson County Campus or Jackson County Campus Vice President.

Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Associate’s Degree (or higher) in entertainment, live event production, or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or equivalent certificate. (M2) Experience in live entertainment or live event production. (M3) Demonstrated experience with video recording and editing. (M4) Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills. (M5)Demonstrated expertise in audio, video, video projection, and computer setup for events and/or presentations. (M6) Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and appropriate audio and video editing software.

Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Bachelor’s Degree. (D2) Experience at educational institution. (D3) Experience with video streaming technology. (D4) Experience with virtual meeting equipment and usage.
