STRUCTURAL STEEL ESTIMATOR

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor Degree
• 3 year minimum experience in construction experience and 2 year minimum experience estimating.
• Able to Relocate
• Able to work in the USA

Job Description:

• Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for the overall project estimate while providing leadership and support for the estimating and proposal process. Estimator is expected to work well with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors / suppliers to plan cost factors for steel projects; analyze construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for steel projects.

Primary Duties:

• Review design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and estimate costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
• Update and maintain the estimating cost data (Tekla EPM) to ensure cost are current/up to date.
• Research construction documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs.
• Work with the project manager, detailer, and other members of the team through the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for the constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project.
• Manage and track multiple preconstruction project estimates.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating potential subcontractors and material vendors to perform the project.
• Create proper bid packages.
• Assist management team in filling out required bid forms.
• Familiarity/ Ability with the following software: Bluebeam, MS excel, MS Word, Tekla EPM and CAD.
