DEPARTMENT: Pricing/Estimating

POSITION ACCOUNTABLE TO: Business Development Manager

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)

JOB SUMMARY: The ideal candidate for the Estimator position is highly motivated and organized. The Estimator estimates and prices labor, materials, purchased items and outside services initiated by a customer's request for quotation. They are responsible for estimating hours and material costs related to Requests for Quote (RFQs) received by clients and potential clients. Quotes may entail reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications and other documents provided by customers. The Estimator interacts both directly with customers and internally with our production and finance teams to develop a proper job price or quote.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Estimate realistic, accurate, and achievable hour/material costs and use that information to provide a competitive quote to the customer.

o Determine price and lead time to be used for the quotation.

o Confer with other individuals in manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering for any additional information needed to prepare the quotation.

o Confer with customers and approved outside vendors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn other systems.

o High standard of attention to detail.

o Ability to manage time and prioritize work in an effective manner.

o Must possess strong communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.

o Ability to work alone as well as in a team environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

o Cost accounting experience is strongly preferred.

o Lean Manufacturing techniques knowledge preferred.

o Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

o High school diploma/GED required. College degree is a plus.

o Work experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
