Logan Steel Inc. was founded in 1972 in Meriden, Connecticut. Over the years we have become an integral part of the metals distribution network in Connecticut. The motto we stand by, “Steel in all forms”, has made Logan an essential provider to all. From the large manufacturers and steel fabricators to the homeowner looking for a weekend do-it-yourself project.
We have a 74,000 square foot fabrication shop as well as a massive sandblasting and painting area. With our Meriden and Torrington shops and abilities, we can handle any project you can throw at us.
Logan Steel Inc. currently has a position available for a Structural Steel Estimator/Project Manager. This position allows you to fully manage projects and bidding processes from start to finish and work closely with our support staff. You will have autonomy to go after various types of jobs and price how you see fit, while receiving internal support from our team. We are set apart from other fabricators as we stock material, fabricate, and finish in house at our 165,000 Sq. Ft. facility in Meriden, CT. We’re expanding our fabrication to now include work from Boston to NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Able to read plans and perform takeoffs of structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- Review specifications and drawings to accurately determine scope of work
- Plan, organize, and direct the completion of specific projects while ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and within scope
- Project manage the job from start to finish and work with departments to coordinate schedules and needs
- Solicit pricing for materials and subcontractors as needed
- Develop and maintain customer relationships
- You will have to autonomy to go after various types of jobs
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Candidates must be proficient in Word, Excel, & Bluebeam or other Take-Off Software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity of pipe supports would be a plus

Candidate must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage several projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate must have strong communication and computer skills. A minimum of three years’ experience and an Associate Degree or higher or equivalent work experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
