TYPE OF POSITION
: Full-Time, Salary, Year-Round, Outdoor Yard Based

ANNUAL INCOME: $100,000+ Salary per year ~ DOQ (depending on qualifications) MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS - Paid Weekly via Direct Deposit

JOB LOCATION: Based at one of our outdoor yards in Ft. Myers, Arcadia, or (coming soon) Sarasota; travel may be required locally for on-the-jobsite repairs, on-the-road repairs, running necessary work-related errands, and possible training.

REQUIREMENTS: Must live or be willing to relocate to SWFL (an in-person interview is required), 3+ years** of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of heavy equipment, hydraulics, and diesel trucks; Solution Oriented with an Ability to Pivot Quickly in a rapidly changing environment; Willingness to work with technical support departments; 25 years of age or older; Clean Driving Record; Fluent English; Tobacco-Free; (Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required)

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Broit Lifting is growing quickly and we are looking to expand our team. Our awesome mechanics perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and make repairs on our equipment in the safest, most efficient way possible to avoid downtime. Our mechanics are based out of one of our yards (located in Ft. Myers, Arcadia, or -coming soon- Sarasota) and work with or without a second mechanic or a technician, on our personal equipment, and assist with material delivery at the yard as needed. Travel may be required for on-site, local job site repairs, on-the-road repairs, running necessary work-related errands, trips to home base in south Naples, and possible training. Attitude is everything! A positive, can-do attitude is a job requirement!


As a qualified applicant, you must have 3-5 years of mechanic experience and diagnostic skills for heavy equipment & hydraulic repairs, as well as, experience with a laptop, and tablet. A willingness to learn and the desire to do an amazing job are very important. Must be self-motivated, take pride in his/her work, always put safety first, be able to pivot quickly in a rapidly changing environment, and communicate effectively with management and the entire team.


Our mechanics are responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork and updating all required information in Numbers spreadsheets (Apple version of Excel), Fleetio, or Samsara throughout the day as well as communicating any maintenance issues that need to be completed to management. Our mechanics are also expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. The mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment at all times, including all equipment, containers, the shed, the yard, etc.


Our mechanics are responsible for utilizing an iPad and/or iPhone to enter, update, and maintain all shared Numbers spreadsheets and apps such as Fleetion & Samsara, in order to communicate projects and repair needs with management and the admin team. Our mechanics will also be responsible for keeping and turning into management all required forms (electronic and/or paper): Maintenance Needs, Parts and Service Work Orders, Invoices, Safety Documentation, etc.


Our mechanics work outdoors, in hot, wet, and varying weather conditions, and in dusty and noisy areas. The physical demands of this role require substantial walking, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, working in awkward or strained positions, and being able to work outdoors in our open-yard environment. Some work hazards are involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery in an outdoor environment. Our regular work week runs 55 hours: 11 hour days, 5 days a week. Longer hours and or weekend work may be required as needed.


SUMMARY:

Our mechanics are responsible for the repairs and maintenance of Yard, Facility, and Company Equipment; including but not limited to rotating telehandlers (Magni and Merlo), semi trucks (Freightliner Cascadia, Columbia, Volvo, and an M2-106, currently), forklifts (Moffett, Manitou, & Hyster), trailers, pick-up trucks, and various other vehicles, with the possibility of being open to working on everything that has a motor (such as boats, jet skis, or RVs)! Willingness to troubleshoot and work on solar panels is also needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Responsible for consistent, clear communication with management
  • Must have an understanding of how to use diagnostic equipment and trace error codes back to machine faults
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work to deadlines and quotas while problem-solving as needed
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to pivot quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Responsible to ensure work is completed properly and the issue is completely resolved.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised, with a sense of urgency and self-motivation, while performing tasks in a safe manner
  • Must have the ambition and willingness to tackle different jobs relating to equipment as well as yard duties, as needed
  • Efficiently perform field repairs/troubleshooting on-site and in the field
  • Provide training to other team members so they are able to assist with repairs or make minor ones they can just be checked and approved
  • Maintain proper records; keep Numbers (Apple) spreadsheets up to date; submit reports to management; be able to fill out required forms which require basic mathematical calculations
  • Must have a basic understanding or ability to learn and the ability to use Apple programs such as Numbers, Pages, iCal, Safari, and email
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task and be goal-oriented
  • Must be able to travel occasionally as needed

  • Adhere to established company policies including safety policies

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

  • 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar heavy equipment and/or diesel equipment or specialty lines equipment is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems & troubleshooting skills
  • High school diploma or GED required / some trade school or equivalent training desired
  • Strong integrity, leadership, team spirit, and a rock-star level work ethic

To be considered, you MUST:

  • Live in the SWFL area or be willing to permanently relocate to SWFL
  • Be at least 25 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of heavy-duty mechanical repair experience
  • Have basic computer skills including handheld or laptop diagnostic equipment
  • Fluent English is a requirement. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus!
  • Have the ability to operate electric & air-powered hand tools
  • Possess excellent texting and communication skills
  • Have a Clean Driving Record
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be willing to join all company-required apps on your personal phone

A PLUS with a SIGN-ON BONUS of $1,500 if you have your Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or an increase in pay if get your CDL Class A within 90 days of hire.
