Responsible to train designated individuals to operate equipment (skidsteer, roller, broom, etc.), follow up with new employees to assess if additional training is needed. When not training, fill in as a equipment operator

Minimum Qualifications:

As a successful Equipment Trainer, you will have:
1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent
2. A CDL license is preferred.
3. Must have and maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and required endorsements.
4. Working knowledge of all types of yellow iron in the construction industry

Duties and Responsibilities - Detail

Equipment Operator Training
1. Work with current employees or new hires to train them on proper equipment operation
2. Review operator’s manual
3. Explain and show individual how and where to properly grease and maintain equipment
4. Teach individual proper equipment operation in controlled environment
5. Guide/observe individual operating equipment on the job site
6. Conduct orientation for new equipment operators
7. Complete Equipment Operator check off and provide card/sticker of completion

Equipment Operator Follow up
1. Follow up and with new employees within 2 weeks after trained
2. Provide additional guidance or training if needed
3. Follow up on equipment operation or maintenance concerns for new drivers to determine needed steps

Equipment Operator Floater
1. Safely maintain & operate various pieces of equipment as needed
2. May operate loader to load aggregate into truck box



General/Other
1. Maintain and support a safe and harassment free work environment.
2. Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local and Company safety and environmental regulation compliance and attend required training
3. Performs other duties as assigned.
4. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
5. Ability to read maps and navigate to new locations.
6. Ability to travel as needed.
