Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple? SUMMARY Work with a crew in the maintenance of City sidewalk and other concrete structures. Operate various equipment and vehicles such as loaders, backhoes and dump trucks as needed to perform job tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist a crew in the installation and maintenance of City sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, along with other concrete structures.

• Operate a backhoe, loader, skid steer and other heavy equipment used in the installation and maintenance of City sidewalks and other concrete structures • Operate various vehicles such as dump trucks, haul trucks with trailers to haul materials to and from worksite. • Use hand tools and perform manual labor tasks as needed to complete work tasks. • Set out cones, signs and other traffic control devices needed at worksites. • Serve as part of a rotational on-call team and respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Assist other crews and perform other duties as assigned: The Operation of various types of heavy equipment such as Loaders, Backhoes, rollers etc , as part of the Reconstruction Crew. The patching of potholes and utility cuts as part of the Asphalt (Patch) Crew, and the operation of a bucket truck while trimming and removing vegetation along City ROW as part of the Forestry Crew. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • High School diploma or GED required • 1 year experience in the operation of construction equipment and vehicles CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment Thank you for your interest in the position.
