Nature of Work:

An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. The employee will perform semiskilled work in maintenance of the wastewater collection system and serve as a lead in the operation of the Vactor truck and/or Tanker Truck. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained. Time to time the employee with be required to assists the CCTV crew cleaning sewer mains lines in preparation for inspections, also the employee will be required to assist on sewer backups, wastewater overflows. Lastly, the employee maybe required to work at night and will be required to work in adverse weather conditions

Work Hours: Work hours are as follows: 7am to 3:30pm

Minimum Requirements

Ability to read, write and follow instructions, plus two (2) years experience in the operation of assigned equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Florida Commercial Drivers License Class A, B, is required prior to employment depending on equipment assigned to position. A tanker endorsement permit prior to employment is required. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator.

Positions in the Wastewater Division require a GOAA Secure Area Access I. D. badge within ninety (90) days of hire.
Additionally:


  • Florida Commercial Driver License Class A required at time of employment.
  • Must pass annual respirator physical.
  • No facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece:
    Employees must be clean shaven at the start of their assigned work shift.
FLORIDA COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE NUMBER (CLASS A) OR EQUIVALENT FROM ANOTHER STATE MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW.
