Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor

Part Time

Cedartown Site

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor at GNTC's Cedartown Site for day or evening courses. By teaching and managing the Heavy Equipment Operator Program, the instructor will prepare individuals for entry-level equipment operator employment with local companies.

Required Qualifications: The applicant must be sufficient with computer programs and technology, with a willingness to learn new technology, software programs, and simulated equipment necessary to teach, train, and prepare individuals for entry-level equipment operator positions. In addition, the applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the required qualification, 3-5 years of experience operating earth-moving equipment such as a dozer, excavator, motor grader, etc. Experience as an instructor at the post-secondary level. Coursework or work experience in curriculum development, instructional methods, and instructional assessment.

Hourly Rate: $36.00

Location and Schedule: This position is expected to work on an as needed basis, not to exceed 29 hours per week. Work hours may be flexed as a combination of evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate class schedules.
