Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

Summary:
Performs daily cleaning functions required to maintain the hospital in a clean and sanitary condition.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
1

Maintains assigned area in a clean and sanitary condition.

Collects trash and refuse and discards according to specific procedures. Cleans and disinfects trash receptacles as needed and upon discharge.

Performs a variety of environmental services functions including daily sanitizing with a germicidal cleaner, high dusting, cleaning windows, window sills, changing cubicle curtains, reporting any safety issues to supervisor.

Ensures bathrooms and fixtures are properly cleaned and disinfected according to procedure.

Ensures all chemicals are diluted to the proper ratio and that all chemicals are properly labeled and locked up when not in use.

Ensures all tiled floors are dust mopped, damp mopped, free of dust, dirt and black marks, and that corners, edges and baseboards are clean. Uses wet floor signs

Ensures that carpets are vacuumed and corners and edges are clean. Reports any spills to supervisor.

Properly cleans and disinfects discharge rooms according to procedure.

Maintains adequate supplies in assigned area.

Maintains janitor closet and all equipment in clean, safe condition.

Displays analytical and basic problem solving skills. Communicates problems to manager as appropriate.

Follows all time and attendance policies.

Attends educational programs provided by the Hospital or those which are outside the Hospital that are related to job responsibilities.
