Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior NEPA/Environmental Planner to join our environmental services group in either the Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC offices to work on a variety of projects for federal, state, municipal, and private infrastructure clients. The environmental services group provides planning, natural environment surveys and permitting, public outreach, and community studies for a range of clients in North Carolina and the southeast. The Senior Planner will serve as project manager and client contact for transportation and other infrastructure improvement projects, with responsibility for overseeing project schedule and budget. This person will also assist with the development of project proposals and letters of interest and assist in other marketing efforts as necessary.

Qualified candidates must have the ability to manage and coordinate assignments with a multi-disciplinary team and prepare a variety of deliverables, including NEPA compliance documents, feasibility studies, and long-range planning studies. The Senior Planner will also conduct public and stakeholder outreach and develop community impact assessments as needed. Experience in MicroStation and ArcGIS is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, or related field
  • 10+ yrs of experience in Transportation or Environmental Planning
  • PE or AICP professional registration
  • Experience in managing environmental planning studies
  • NEPA document preparation experience
  • Experience with MicroStation and ArcGIS preferred
  • Knowledge of NCDOT and Federal transportation planning, environmental policies
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
