Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Engineer to join our team! In this role you will gain experience in environmental investigations and remediation of PFAS and conventional contaminants.

Parsons is adding to our environmental services team! We are hiring entry level environmental engineers with 0 to 3 years’ experience with a desire to support various federal projects across the country in all aspects of environmental investigation and remediation, and an anticipated focus on PFAS. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
  • Assist with the drafting of technical proposal and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, and closure reports.
  • Experience with PFAS projects with advanced PFAS technical training provided.
  • Participate on multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to - PFAS investigation and remediation, military munitions response, and/or other hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste contamination.
  • Perform soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling efforts.
  • Assist in geological mapping and in performing basic geologic, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry tasks including preparation of cross sections and compilation of environmental sample analyses.
  • Junior staff (0 – 3 years) to be based in Boston, Austin, Denver, or Atlanta. Ability to work virtually commensurate with experience with non-virtual options available to specific locations - inquire during interview.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in environmental engineering, or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer registration or engineer-in-training certification with intent to complete certification.
  • Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader, as applicable
  • Strong communication and writing skills - an example of an authored writing assignment will be requested.
  • Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with the discipline.
  • For Junior staff, willingness to travel to project sites and perform field work up to 60% of time.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training, or ability to obtain upon hiring
  • Master’s Degree in engineering, natural science, or related discipline
  • Experience with PFAS projects with advanced PFAS technical training provided
  • Environmental sampling experience of various media using multiple sampling techniques and field equipment.
  • Desire to grow into leadership role supporting PFAS and conventional contaminant projects.

Salary Range:

$24.18 - $42.31
