Job description

JSI is seeking an Entry Level Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom Design Engineer responsible for the design, field notes, pricing, and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities using the RUS coding practices. This position’s essential functions will include Engineering fiber optic routes for rural areas using aerial, buried or underground cable. This position will work within in the office and out in the field about 40/60.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of taking of detailed field notes
• Must possess working knowledge of basic office software, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
• Some Right of Way, NDS, and AutoCAD experience is a plus
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work on multiple projects.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel up to 60% of your time

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma required
• An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must possess working knowledge of basic office software, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
