Forklift Mechanical Assembler starting at $19 per hour

Currently offering $1500 SIGN ON BONUS

4407 Railroad Ave

East Chicago, IN

1stShift – 6:30am to 3:00pm with occasional overtime and Saturdays

Day in the Life:

• Work as part of a production team to assemble heavy duty forklifts
• Assembly of sheet metal, mechanical components, hydraulic equipment, electrical components, pump assembly, etc.
• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, instructions, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions or procedures
• Inspect and test assembled parts and equipment
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Recommend improvements to procedures
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Ability to use the following tools/equipment:
• Impact Guns
• Wrenches
• Hammer
• Tape Measure
• Operating Cranes
• And other tools as necessary

What Toyota is Looking For:

The Assembler position will be responsible for the assembly of a variety of parts ranging from small-fabricated components to large and heavy subassemblies for the purpose of producing complete forklift units. The person we are looking for should be mechanically inclined, hands-on, and want to learn new skills within a growing company.

• At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems assembly tasks
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and assembly drawings
• Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
• Specific vision abilities required; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
