The Enrichment Services Coordinator (ESC) will support implementation of the community’s Nutrition in Housing Plan. Facilitate communication to residents about the pilot and its opportunities, including actively promoting information about services, identifying ways to integrate into other community enrichment services and signing up residents for nutrition and food access opportunities. The goal of this pilot program is to address food security/access and nutrition/wellness education at a multi-family affordable housing community in Houston, TX (Cleme Manor Apartments). This is a part-time, grant-funded position, currently at 20-hour per week. The project period is scheduled to run until April 30th of 2024.

The ESC works closely in collaboration with the onsite resident service coordinator. The ESC will engage residents in health and wellness activities that will increase their understanding and support their desire to live a healthy lifestyle. The ESC will monitor partners and provide some program implementation for the community that will focus on areas of, food security, food access benefits programs, nutrition education, community gardens, and stress relief strategies.

Essential Functions:

· Support the implementation of the day-to-day operations of the food access programs.

· Create spaces and enforce policies that promote safety and security for program participants. Maintain high visibility at the site to ensure participants are aware of services.

· Coordinate logistics and provide resources to members of the community to address social needs in a manner that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and participant-centered.

· Educate community members and their families about the sites and services provided.

· Plan and execute health related community events/workshops to target outcome goals.

· Assure programs are operating smoothly and that spaces used for activities are kept clean and in order.

· Submit monthly attendance report for all programs to the supervisor.

· Develop and maintain a schedule of activities and services monthly with the guidance and support of partners, the resident wellness team, and resident services coordinator.

· Develop and maintain positive relations with residents, property management, partners, and other staff.

· Provide program orientation, encourage involvement, and maintain contact with partners and participants.

· Respond promptly and courteously to concerns and/or complaints. Immediately notify the supervisor of concerns and/or complaints.

· Communicate with participants, partners, and staff regarding progress, performance, and outcomes as necessary.

· Identify participants and coordinate outreach for participation in service offerings.

· Market and promote program services, activities, outcomes throughout the property.

· Implement outcome evaluation tools.

· Recruit and enroll program participants to meet program goals.

· Organize volunteers, community partners, and others in the implementation of activities.

· Submit all required documentation on a timely basis, including attendance, outcome measures, forms, payroll information, survey, etc.

· Engage with the resident to establish an effective and trusting, professional relationship.

Performance Factors:

  • Attendance and Dependability. The ESC can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is expected to complete assignments in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
  • Communication and Contact. The ESC communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with organizational leaders, property management team, RSCs, partners, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization. The ESC also pays close attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Relationships with Others. The ESC works effectively and relates well with others including residents, leadership team, colleagues, property managers, and individuals inside and outside the organization. The ESC exhibits a professional manner dealing with others and maintains constructive working relationships.
  • Leadership and Initiative. The ESC should demonstrate leadership and initiative as the driver of the Social Health Bridge programs at both properties, including the development and execution of the programs.

Job Type: Part-Time, 20 hours per week, Temporary, Grant Funded

Pay Range: $25/per hour.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of health and nutrition, food access, or related work experiences. Associate degree in social services or related field ideal, minimum of high school diploma. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management/tracking.
