Job Description

The Data Experience Team (dx) has the responsibility of data engineering and data governance for Comcast data platforms, focused on gathering, organizing, and making sense of Comcast data. Within the Big Data domain, this role is responsible for software development including planning, crafting, developing, testing, implementation and management of big data applications passionate about video usage and viewership, both on premise and in the cloud.

The Data Engineer is a meaningful role, responsible for design to implementation, including new programs, improvements, and modifications. One will contribute to functional strategy development and should have experience operating in a DevSecOps team as they will contribute to an internal DevSecOps culture encompassing end-to-end responsibility for development, deployment, production support, monitoring, data quality and automation of their applications.

Required Technical Skills:

• Programming languages like Scala, Python.
• Databricks, Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Pyspark, Spark Sql.
• AWS Cloud Computing like Glue, Lambada, CloudWatch, Athena.
• Big Data Architecture, Solutions & Technologies.

• CI/CD tools like GoCD, Jenkins, Concourse.

Core Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and rollouts of software releases.
• Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.
• Researches, writes, and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
• Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
• Works with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
• Displays knowledge of and ability to apply project management skills.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Pay Range: This job can be performed in Denver Campus, with a Pay Range of $108,335.77 USD - $162,503.65 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
