Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an End-to-End System Integration & Test Engineer (Level 2, 3, or 4) to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) located in Seal Beach, CA ; with options to work from El Segundo, CA ; to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning various technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which just completed its sixth and most ambitious flight yet.

As a member of our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) – System Test team , you will join a diverse team of test engineers, test software/script developers, ground support equipment (GSE) & special test equipment (STE) designers, and test directors/conductors. You will be expected to support our end-to-end system test efforts, planning and executing integration and test activities for validation/verification of spacecraft, ground system, and external system functionality and interfaces . You will lead coordination across all internal and external stakeholders to drive your assigned programs’ development from early system definition through test program design and system sell-off/acceptance. You will serve as a core point of contact for customers and will work directly with subject matter experts across the business to quickly iterate and converge on achievable solutions that meet our customers’ needs. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to develop solutions to previously unsolved problems.

In this role, you will work in multidisciplinary teams to bring system integration & test programs to fruition in support of our customers’ mission objectives. You will work both as an individual contributor and/or as a team lead, depending on your selected role. An ideal candidate has a strong technical background across hardware & software integration, spacecraft and ground system development & integration/test, software integration/debugging, and test planning/execution. You will need to be able to dive into broad, minimally-defined design spaces and effectively lead integrated efforts.

Position Responsibilities:
Support technology integration for and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions

Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership

Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere

Support management with team leadership, cost and schedule management, and proposal development

Design & execute end-to-end system test programs (including spacecraft, ground system, and external systems)

Support troubleshooting of hardware/software integration and resolution of anomalies

Develop test procedures, requirements, and configurations

Generate and/or execute test scripts/software

Support system verification/validation, sell-off/acceptance, and preparation for launch

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Experience with systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3 : 3+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Level 4 : 5+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience system level testing on satellite systems (spacecraft and ground systems)

Understanding of the verification process

Working knowledge of test scripts/software

Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

Experience with project management

Experience working with software (Linux)

Familiarity with systems engineering tools (DOORS, MBSE, etc.)

Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customer

Typical Education/ Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience, Master's degree or PhD degree. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4)
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range (Associate, Level 2): $87,550 - $118,450
Summary Pay Range (Experienced, Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450
Summary Pay Range (Lead, Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
