Summary:

The Employment Specialist (ES) is a highly accountable, self-starter, who can work well independently and with others. The ES possesses a high level of emotional intelligence and a strong work ethic. The ES is flexible and has excellent organizational and time-management skills. The ES is a good communicator and able to operate from a strengths-based perspective. The ES is well versed in inclusion, equity, and culture to support the diverse populations we serve.

The Employment Specialist (ES) provides Employment Support Services to eligible clients through various funding sources. The ES provides a variety of supportive and employment related services that may include: Vocational Assessment, Employment Preparation, Job Development, Job Placement, and Job Retention services. The ES administers activities to educate and support clients in gaining and maintaining employment. The Employment Specialist also serves as a liaison between clients, employers, and community partners.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred in psychology, social work, Sociology, human resources or related field, together with at least six (6) months related client care or employment service experience.
• or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in non-related field, together with at least one (1) year related client care or employment service experience.
• or less than a college degree and two (2) years related client care or employment service experience.
• Bilingual Spanish Preferred (verbal only).
• Must have a current valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance. Must have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company. Must have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Position Location: North Hills, CA

Salary Range: $20.04 up to $28.50 per hour

Additional $1.00 per hour Bilingual Spanish Differential

Position Status: Full Time Temporary.

Flexible schedules are available upon successful completion of introductory period.
