Job Summary:
Lead and/or monitor a variety of recreation activities, special events and trips. Responsible for the overall cleanliness and look of the Recreation Center.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coordinate activities and trips per approval of Rec Center Manager.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the Recreation Center by performing light facility maintenance and custodial duties including, but not limited to lifting, sweeping, disposing of waste, vacuuming, and washing windows.
  • Compile, balance, and submit deposits with Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
  • Assume responsibility for the Community Recreation Center in the absence of the Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Assist in maintaining the on-going facility schedule for programming, classes, meetings, events, games, etc.
  • Operate Front Desk and POS register according to Recreation Center procedures and policy.
  • Promote Recreation Center sponsored activities and events.
  • Facilitate trips of varying lengths, both in AZ and out of state.
  • Open and close the Recreation Center as scheduled according to procedure.
  • Assist in enforcing Recreation Center policies to the patrons.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience with Word and email programs.
  • Willing to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire an Arizona driver’s license and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
  • Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card within first 2 weeks in the position.
  • Previous recreation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of fitness equipment.
