We are seeking a Mental Health Tech to join our team in the Emergency Department, who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. The Mental Health Tech is an integral part of a multidisciplinary care team. Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel and within the scope of training and hospital guidelines, you will perform a variety of technical and specialized skills that assist with addressing the treatment plan and needs of the patient.

• You will help with data collection, identification of patient risk factors, general patient care, and documentation.

• You may observe and monitor patients deemed to be at risk to self or others.

• You will help provide care to all patients based on age specific development and cultural diversity.

• You may assist in the orientation of new employees as well as students and other trainees

• You must have the ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English. Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.

a) Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS-Healthcare provider
b) Education: Basic reading comprehension required.

c) Experience: prefer mental health exp. Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily
completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.
Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external
customer.

d) Special qualifications: Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.

Degree of Supervision Required: Works under immediate supervision of Manger and/or director.
