The Email Designer is responsible for designing and producing emails from the initial concept through launch. Emails must visually communicate to our customers and support the business goals of Harbor Freight while adhering to the brand standards.

- Design eye-catching email layouts that lead to higher levels of engagement and increased click-through rates, as well as sales growth where possible. This would include emails for special promotions, sale events, customer programs, and new brand/new product launches.
- Responsible for creating motion graphics/gifs for use in digital marketing channels, using After Effects or a similar application
- Research up-to-date and emerging technologies and developments in the design field and implement them when appropriate.
- Work on designs from concept to completion.
- Partner and assist the Harbor Freight Merchandising and Marketing Teams in achieving their business objectives by analyzing information, strategizing solutions, and translating all into strong visual concepts appropriate for the brand, audience, market, culture, and business context.
- Partner and assist designers on the production team by guiding them with email template design/development
- Work within brand guidelines
- Additional duties may be assigned.

- Travel - 10%; may travel to trade show no more than once per year, domestic travel only.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $62,800 – $94,200 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts or Design is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a graphic designer in-house, or design/ad agency required
Job Qualifications –
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and capability in design principles, strategies and creative processes
- Proven project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and organize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various design disciplines (color theory, typography, contrast, balance, repetition, alignment, etc.) to create high-value emails
- Expert-level experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)
- Experience with 3D programs, such as KeyShot is a plus
- Advanced Photoshop retouching skills a plus
- Quick study of department processes
- Must be able to present and sell design ideas with a clear, articulate approach
- Must demonstrate a great attitude and a serious work ethic
- Ability to collaborate across various company departments
- Remain flexible with regard to changing priorities
- Must demonstrate experience understanding branding concepts and how they manifest in email design
- Ability to work longer hours when needed to meet business needs
- Ability to generate crative visual solutions
