    Lakeville Area Schools (Independent School District No. 194) is a growing and award-winning school district located in the south metropolitan area of Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota.     POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position advances the district’s mission, values and goals by assisting with the development and implementation of a coordinated, district-wide communications and public relations program. This position distributes a variety of official electronic communications, manages the district website, provides communication technology assistance for users of official communication platforms, as well as provides administrative support for the department.

    • 12 month/260 days a year. 8 hours a day.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Manage distribution of electronic communication, including:
      • Weekly eNewsletters for staff and community
      • Electronic mass communication through official platforms
      • Posting news and information to the official district social media platforms
      • Oversee official district email accounts and support with official correspondence
    • Oversee website and staff intranet maintenance:
      • Develop, update, post and assist in creating content for the website/intranet
      • Ensure adherence of website/intranet quality, design, brand and content standards
      • Monitor website/intranet content for consistency and up to date information, and fix websiteproblems including broken links
    • Provide training and technical support to communications department and district staff forcommunications platforms including but not limited to mass notification communication system,website, eNewsletters, digital flyers, digital signage and social media platforms. Provide supportand service to users of the district's web services and applications.
    • Process department purchase orders and invoices, receive merchandise, follow up on billingdiscrepancies, request checks from the finance department, and handle all financial processes forthe department aligned to the district’s financial program
    • Assist in gathering video and photo content for the department, as needed
    • Assist in implementation of special projects, as assigned by coordinator
    • Support with recording official district meetings/events on a limited basis
    • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relations with students, administrators,teachers, staff, parents and community members for the purpose of serving as a communicationsliaison for the district
    • Available for occasional evening and weekend hours
    • Other duties as assigned
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Associates Degree, Technical Degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations,Marketing, English or related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Up to two years’ experience in communications, marketing, technology or similar field.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to learn and expertly utilize a variety of industry-related software applications.
    • Previous experience with the following types of applications preferred: Adobe Creative Suite, webcontent management systems, mass notification systems, social media platforms, Video editingsoftware, eNewsletter platforms.
    Location: In-person based at the Lakeville Area Schools District Office.
