Position Summary:

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician will be responsible for building engineering prototypes and managing the EE lab space while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications. Prototypes may consist of PCA’s, cabling, and sheet-metal boxes with the focus on PCA’s. As part of the INR division, you will help develop and maintain medical systems by working with cross-functional engineering teams. Familiarity with typical concepts, practices, and procedures within electro-mechanical engineering is required for this position, as well as the requirements listed below.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • PCA assembly including purchasing components, soldering, repair and rework
  • Surfacing Mount Assemblies of miniature size components and hybrid circuits to surface of a printed circuit board
  • Prototyping wiring subassemblies, terminal wiring, wire crimping, and cable harnessing
  • Soldering SMT and other electrical components under a microscope
  • Electromechanical Assembly from CAD drawing using of hand tools, manual machining, and precision tools for box builds
  • Managing the electrical engineering lab, maintain tools and test equipment including calibration, component stock etc.
  • Assisting the engineering group with experiments to improve product performance and reliability
  • Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Representing the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Associate’s degree in an electronics technology related discipline or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with GMP environment; familiarity reading, checking, updating Bills Of Materials, schematics, machine drawings
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with IPC A 610 and similar standards
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational and technical competence
  • Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Experience with large medical systems a plus (ex. surgical robotics, x-ray imaging, etc.)
