Electrician

Summary

This position assists in performing instrumentation, industrial computer, and electrical maintenance and construction as directed. This position reports directly to the Electrician Foreperson.

Principal Working Relationships

• Supervisor: Electrical Supervisor, Instrumentation Supervisor
• Others: Instrumentation, Industrial Computer, Electrical Techs, Factory Management, Operations personnel

Essential Job Duties

• The Electrician assists Instrument Techs, Industrial Computer Techs, and Electrical Techs in their jobs.
• The Electrician must strive to obtain the necessary qualifications needed to obtain the position of Instrument Tech, Industrial Computer Tech, or Electrical Tech.
• The Electrician will do some maintenance and construction jobs on their own as their knowledge, skills, and experience progress.
• Keep work areas clean.
• Complete reports as required.
• Develop the process, electrical, instrumentation, and programming skills of self and others through training.
• Use people, time, equipment, and material in the most efficient manner.
• Report mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, food safety, feed safety, and operational problems, and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Other duties as required by the business.
• Adhere to all company policies and all safety, food safety, feed safety, and sanitation rules and programs

Qualifications

• Two year degree or diploma in an electrical or instrumentation field from an approved trade or technical school is desired
• Leadership and judgment qualities required.
• Process related experience and basic sugar processing knowledge desired.
• Should be motivated, willing, enthusiastic, and promotable.
• Good attendance, safety, disciplinary, and overall employment records.
• Organized with excellent time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels

• An Electrician must be able to successfully demonstrate the methods involved in the wiring and maintenance of Minn-Dak’s electrical systems and equipment. This includes all Control Technician capabilities plus the following:
• Know Minn-Dak’s controls
• Know Minn-Dak voltages and location of MCC’s and panel boards
• Know how to trouble shoot and repair VFD’s at the board and semi conductor level
• Know how to get into Minn-Dak PLC program to trouble shoot field devices
• Fill in for rotating shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.75 - $34.93 per hour
