The City of West Plains, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as an Electric Superintendent for the Utilities Department . This is a full-time, salary exempt position consisting of 40+ hours per week.

The superintendent is the supervisory level of the utilities department reporting to the Utilities Director. This position plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and reviews the functions and operations of the electric distribution and fiber systems. Responsible for supervising field operations and maintenance activities, assists with the development and management of operational and capital budgets, working closely with contractors, property owners, other divisions and state agencies. Ensures all services are delivered in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree with major coursework in engineering or directly related discipline; AND
• Minimum of five (5) years of management experience with progressive levels of responsibility in a position with significant operational responsibility; OR
• A comparable combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
• Journeyman lineman
• Fiber Optics Installer certification preferred.
• Possess and maintain a valid Missouri Driver’s License-CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement throughout employment and meet the requirements of the City of West Plains Operation of Vehicles Policy.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• This position has salary range of $24.70 to $34.44 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
