Purpose:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing leadership and creativity in the design, development, optimization, problem solving and operation of facilities, utilities equipment & supporting processes in a manner that meets safety and operational performance expectations. In this role, you will identify, propose, analyze, and design cost effective process procedures that drive growth, reduce costs, improve quality, and reduce process variance to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will maintain responsibility for supporting the relevance of the operation in the future through the industrialization of new products, materials, and processes to ensure our facility can meet the demands of the rapidly growing stainless market. Successful members of the team will be highly proactive and self- sufficient in pursuing improvement projects, be able to multitask and refocus efforts immediately to meet constantly shifting demands in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from manager.
  • Develop, design, and implement electrical solutions including but not limited to enclosures and mechanisms while managing constraints in space, time, cost, manufacturing, structural integrity
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action for equipment, process, and people.
  • Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching, and proposing capital investments.
  • Develop project documentation including specifications and presentations to capture and communicate the electrical design to achieve the defined project goals
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects. machine capability evaluations, maintenance monitoring, calibration modifications of equipment and developing solutions to production issues relating to materials, processes, and procedures to maximize efficiency and yields.
  • Coach, mentor, and technically assist team members on best practices
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently in oral and written forms on development status, risks, and challenges to all stakeholders at any level within the organization
  • Effectively lead teams through change management initiatives that influence culture, define tools & processes, and improve competencies
  • Determine process requirements and prepare thorough and accurate process documentation, design and conduct trials to set process specifications.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot process problems as to make continuous and permanent improvements.
  • Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
  • Assist in the development of Safe Job Procedures (SJP) and Emergency Procedures (EP).
  • Ensure in compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Any other activities that may be required or requested to support the business.

Requirements:

  • B.S. or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Or 10 years of hands-on experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or equivalent environment focused on electrical engineering discipline
  • Certification e.g. 6S, TPM and ISO beneficial.
  • Certification in Process Improvement (e.g. Lean Expert, Green Belt) Preferred
  • Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
  • Proven expertise as an electrical engineer
  • Experience leading cost – efficient process and methods
  • Demonstrate experience maintenance monitoring
