J0B DESCRIPTION


L3Harris Space & Sensors in Cincinnati Ohio is currently seeking a talented FPGA engineer with experience developing VHDL. You will get the opportunity to participate in FPGA developments including requirements, system design, detailed design, and hardware integration on cutting-edge systems. The diverse product portfolio at L3Harris Space & Sensors provides opportunities to work on ultra-high speed, ultra-large format infrared cameras, launch vehicle avionics, and orbital vehicle communications. RESPONSIBILITES


  • Product Development

    • Design, implementation, verification, and integration of VHDL components.

    • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.

    • Participate in VHDL peer reviews.

    • Analysis of component synthesis, timing, and clock domain crossings.

    • Technical presentations including internal design reviews.

    • Support to internal and external production/manufacturing, test/verification, and delivered products.

  • Support bid and proposal activities to generate technical solutions, cost, and schedule estimation.



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 8 years prior related experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, BSEET, or BSECE) and minimum 4 years prior related experience; OR Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE, MSEET, or MSECE) and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

  • Proficient knowledge of FPGAs and VHDL design including at least 2-8 years of direct experience.

  • ModelSim/Questa or equivalent logic simulation tools

  • MATLAB/Simulink experience is a plus

  • Standard streaming and memory mapped interfaces (Avalon, AMBA, etc.)

  • Experience with FPGA vendor tools (Microsemi, Intel, Xilinx)

  • Exposure to digital hardware design, interfaces, and architectures.

    • NAND, NOR, and DDR memory interfaces

    • GigE, 10GigE, GigE Vision

    • High Speed Serializers and Deserializers (SERDES)

    • LVDS, RS-422, I2C, SPI

    • Practical knowledge of project/task management and technical estimating

    • Ability to participation in continuous improvement activities

    • Working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and test processes

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance



PREFERRED


  • Experience in design for test, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and EMC is a plus.

  • Experience in Agile Scrum development methods is a plus.
