Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Electrical EIT, we'll count on you to:

• Electrical design calculations
• Plan sheet, detail drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimate development for construction projects
• Electrical field inspection and troubleshooting
• Construction submittal reviews (e.g., shop drawings)
• Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Other entry level tasks through the schematic design development and contract document phase of any project.
• Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited university.
• EIT License
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Willingness to travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record under the HDR Motor Vehicle Policy.
• Candidates who reside locally in the Portland, OR area are preferred.
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain professional registration
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or employment experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm, construction contractor, or similar industry employers for electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Willingness to travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record under the HDR Motor Vehicle Policy.
• Candidates who reside locally in the Portland, OR area are preferred.
