Eaton’s VEH NAA North America Auto division is currently seeking a EHS Manager.


The expected annual salary range for this role is $101250.0 - $148500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Vehicle Group is currently seeking an EHS Manager to join our team at our Roxboro, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available!

Position Overview:

This individual is accountable for directing EHS activities at the site; establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and; act as the site EHS liaison with the Group and Corporate EHS teams. The EHS manager is also responsible for maintaining site ISO/OHSA certifications; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closures of MESH (Management of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; site security, creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

In this function you will:

  • Leads the creation of site EHS&S targets and objectives (MESH Plan) in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS&S strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS&S culture, compliance, and results.
  • Identifies action-based EHS&S goals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front-line leaders to support achievement of the site’s EHS&S targets and objectives.
  • Manages completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize EHS&S aspects and hazards.
  • Utilizes the company’s EHS&S database (MESH Suite) to manage data related to EHS&S incidents, consumption of natural resources such as water, and EHS&S action plans.
  • Leads the deployment of EHS&S element champions and teams and facilitates their engagement in ownership of the activities required to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manages the completion of a campus-wide annual evaluation of compliance with Federal, State, local and company EHS&S requirements.
  • Identifies and supports achievement and maintenance of third-party recognition - such as OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, ISO 14001, NC Environmental Stewardship and OHSAS 18001 - that establish Eaton’s EHS&S program as world-class.
  • Manages development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required EHS&S training is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion.
  • Leads site efforts to ensure that key EHS operational controls are in place and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Leads sustainability programs for the site.
  • Leads an EHS team consisting of one EHS Analyst and one EHS technician.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years of EHS related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing or leading people
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Science from an accredited institution.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
