Position Title: Art Museum: Educator
Department: 2080|Art Museum
Responsibilities:
The Educator at the Hilliard Art Museum is responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs serving UL students as well as K-12 students in the community. The position reports to the Curator. Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement in consultation with the curator and in alignment with the museum’s interpretation policy, education programs targeted at specific audiences and assuring accessibility to the museum’s collection and exhibitions;
Develop partnerships with UL faculty and student groups on campus to broaden the museum’s academic impact;
Schedule and implement guided tours for UL classes as well as K-12 and other guided tours as needed;
Work with team members on the hiring and management of teaching artists as needed to support programs;
Perform docent training for staff and VSS on a seasonal basis;
Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Museum Studies, or Fine Arts
Prior teaching experience required
Experience developing arts curriculum for various ages required
