The University of Wisconsin-Stout's School of Education is seeking an emerging or established coordinator of clinical education field experiences placements for educator preparation programs. We are seeking an individual who is passionate and committed to promoting the development of equitable and inclusive learning opportunities for students ready to apply their learning in clinical education experiences or classroom setting. The Clinical Education Experiences Coordinator will build relationships and collaborate with faculty, staff, and Pk-12 district and school representatives and agencies during the collection, review, approval, confirmation, and maintenance of clinical experience placements and resulting data.

In alignment with state, local and university protocols, the Clinical Education Experiences Coordinator uses technology, applications, and procedures to facilitate consistent, complete, visible, and transparent intake of information related to student placement and assessment during clinical experiences in both face-to-face and online programs. The Clinical Education Experiences Coordinator supports and advises leadership, colleagues, and other stakeholders during the configuration, maintenance, and utilization of developing technology, applications, and procedures. This is a campus-based position that reports to the School of Education Director.

Within this context, clinical education experiences for preparation programs is defined to include all fields and student teaching experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Education, Public Relations, Communication or closely related field with a minimum of one year of applicable experience
  • Strong computer skills that include word processing, creating, and managing databases, and presentation software
  • Communication, collaboration, and public relations skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds that supports equity, diversity and inclusion

Highly Desired

  • Master's degree in an education related program

  • Experience working with educator preparation programs in higher education

  • Current teaching or a license in education

  • Experience in field placement operations Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects successfully

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the placement of pre-student teaching, student teaching, and graduate program field experiences.
  • Develop, communicate with, enhance, and maintain relationships with field sites and partners.
  • Coordinate student internship placements in partnership with school districts, following the current Department of Public Instruction (DPI) guidelines.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Associate Dean, Certification Officer, Program Directors, faculty and supervisors in placement-related issues and initiatives.
  • Advise students about placement options through class visits, special events, and one-on-one/group meetings.
  • Provide Program Directors and students with information regarding teacher education internships.
  • Provide Career Service with data (annual or by semester reports) for comprehensive placement reporting for the university.
  • Provide resources for site supervisors to inform them of expectations in the preparation of future educators.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate seminars for undergraduate teacher candidates.
  • Maintain placement data and provide statistical analysis.
  • Maintain administrative files and records of field experiences.
  • Monitor adherence of programs to professional certification/licensure guidelines.
  • Monitor diversity of site placements to give students well rounded experiences that meet accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor teacher education student applications for field assignments ensuring that all University and DPI requirements have been met.
  • Collaborate in the completion of affiliation agreements.
  • Serve as the liaison among education candidates, University Supervisors, field experience site supervisors and building administrators of school districts.
  • Refer employers to state system/technology platform used for recruitment of post-graduation positions.
  • Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.

Assist with internal/external grants, i.e., America Reads, Rural Teacher Grant.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION INFORMATION

The School of Education is housed in the College of Arts and Human Sciences and provides oversight and support for professional education services, faculty and staff. The School of Education seeks to cultivate effective leaders and impactful educators in their fields by promoting collaborative, applied learning opportunities through exemplary teaching, research and service. There are currently seven undergraduate and five graduate programs plus the Child and Family Studies Center within the School of Education.

In addition, the School of Education Council determines policies and procedures related to educational licensure and accreditation. The Council consists of the Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Department Chair, program directors for licensure programs and the M.S. Education program, faculty representing education foundation courses, clinical placement, licensure, and assessment staff.
