Summary
The Children's Institute at Jericho has a full-time position open for the right person. We are seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher with a passion for working with young children. The Assistant Teacher will offer flexible thinking, curiosity, and creativity as part of a larger teaching team that strategizes and explores the implementation of core Montessori principles. If you have credentials to be an Assistant Teacher, or you are interested in becoming an Assistant Teacher, please apply. Training and coaching will be provided to ensure the success and happiness of the Assistant Teacher.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the lead guide, and other classroom guides to implement quality education, and developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. Candidate will be dependable and have strong organizational skills that allow for the structure and routine that young children need. Will work to prepare and maintain a prepared Montessori environment in which the furnishings and materials are developmentally appropriate and welcoming to children. Candidate will ensure safety and well-being of students in the classroom. Our preK classroom is 3 staff to 20 students.
Start Date: Monday, August 21, 2023
Position: Preschool Assistant - Full-Time - Mid August to Mid June yearly position with summers off.
Time: 7:30am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday (40 hrs/wk)

Duties
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Maintaining the Montessori prepared environment.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Requirements

- Dependable and can arrive to work on time.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certification - Will be provided if you do not have
- Must clear full background check.
