Community Bridges is looking for a full-time
Early Childhood Educator/ Special Educator in Concord, NH!

We are a non-profit agency founded in 1982 with a mission to advance the integration, growth, and interdependence of people with developmental disabilities within their own communities. Building on the strengths of over 1,100 individuals in the greater Capital Area and their families, we work to identify barriers of access to find creative solutions to develop meaningful community engagement.



The Early Childhood Educator/ Special Educator participates in transdisciplinary assessments and the writing of assessment reports, providing expertise in the areas of cogitative/play and social/emotional development. Participates in the development of the IFSP and implements service plan, provides service coordination, and offers parent support and education regarding normal and atypical child development and appropriate behavioral interventions. Also provides direct and indirect consultation to EI staff and other agencies with whom we collaborate. Must have knowledge and comfort with providing home and community-based services within a transdisciplinary model.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development. State of New Hampshire Teaching Certification or ability to obtain.

Experience: Two years’ experience in working with infants and toddlers is required. Experience working in a home-based setting and experience participating in a transdisciplinary team preferred.


Compensation and Benefits

The starting rate for this position is $45,000 per year. There is a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position - $500 will be paid at the time of hire and $500 will be paid after 6 months in the role. *Please note, sign-on bonuses are for new hires only. Re-hires and transfers are not eligible at this time.

Paid Time Off: For a full-time employee working 40 hours a week, 264.16 hours of Paid Time Off is received per year! PTO days will increase over the years based on longevity and there is no waiting period to start using your PTO!

Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403b with 1% company match, Excellent Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, Employer-paid Short Term Disability, and Employer paid Life Insurance.

Mileage Reimbursement: Employees are reimbursed for approved mileage driven on the clock.

Paid Training: As an employee, you are paid your usual rate of pay while attending training!


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves families regardless of; disability, race, religion, sex, ethnicity, illness, sociological, or financial circumstances
  • Works flexible hours to serve families throughout the service area.
  • Attends and participate in group and individual supervision, administrative meetings, in services and other training events
  • Participates in transdisciplinary assessments, provides assessment of child's development in multiple areas
  • Writes areas of Assessment Reports
  • Participates in the development of the Individualized Family Support Plan and signs
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Part C philosophy and regulations
  • Comply with State and Agency policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Works cooperative in a transdisciplinary team, for purposes of assessment and consultation
  • Arranges and provide regularly scheduled home/community visits to an assigned caseload
  • Provides parents with supports, information, assistance and advocacy throughout services and transition process
  • Organizes and maintain appropriate records
  • Works closely with Family Support in meeting family needs. Provide guidance, encouragement, and information to families and help to coordinate with community agencies.
  • Provides parents with information, assistance, and advocacy during the transition from early intervention services.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and attends relevant continuing education events
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge-base in the area of typical and atypical development of infants and toddlers
  • Represents Community Bridges services to the community and maintains a positive image to the community at large
  • Maintains training in and utilizes universal health precautions to protect self, staff, child, and family health
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Documents and reports all cases of suspected abuse and neglect to supervisor and to the State of New Hampshire in accordance with state law and agency policy
  • Maintains a valid NH driver’s license, a safe driving record and has access to a reliable vehicle


Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Physically able to lift children and move children’s equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Works in variety of home environments, including those with having pets, those which are not handicapped accessible and those having tobacco smoke
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently meet multiple demands
  • Manages stress effectively


Travel:

Will be expected to drive to and from families’ homes 15-20 hours a week. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of good driving record, proof of adequate auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.
