Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's Authoritative Data Environment (ADE) system team is seeking a Help Desk Administrator to join their team.

The program overall will maintain Navy O&M and Research/Development/Test and Evaluation (RDTE) for Navy Personnel and Pay systems. The ADE team will apply an authoritative data sharing framework that supports data analytics and business intelligence functions to the HR systems.

The Help Desk Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the program virtual infrastructure while performing the following responsibilities/functions:

  • Receives, logs, assigns and follows up on customer incidents until resolve
  • Provides initial end-user troubleshooting and escalates to systems administrators and applications team when required
  • Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions
  • Identify, investigate, resolve, and follow-up problems brought to the helpdesk by users of cloud infrastructure
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant AWS technology as assigned
  • Documents work for leadership and updates/creates Standard Operating Procedures
  • May serve as a team or task lead

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; additional experience may be substituted for the degree
  • 5+ years of IT technical and customer facing experience:
    • 2-4 years of customer facing experience on help desk or client support position
    • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, Oracle
    • Requires ability to work in a collaborative environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
    • Experience working remote using AWS Cloud environment is preferred
    • Navy personnel and modernization experience is preferred
    • Working knowledge of Tableau and WSO2 applications is preferred
  • Security+ certification
  • Current Linux operating system certification or training
  • Top Secret clearance or fully adjudicated T5 clearance is required to start

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
