Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to join the team at Western State Hospital (WSH) in Lakewood, WA.

Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Some of what you'll do:


  • Maintain and tracks assignments
  • Utilize independent judgment to prioritize, establish, and modify workflow in support of all assignments
  • Coordinate, assign, instruct; track, research, review, correct, follow up, and compile various and complex administrative functions, projects, and flowsheets
  • Manage and maintain the schedule
  • Organizational Chart - update and keep current with staff movement. Keeps HR updated with the newest versions
  • Champion WSH departmental efforts to connect with and support WSH staff in providing useful communication, staff recognition, and staff engagement efforts.
  • Operate smoothly in a fast-paced work environment; maintains flexible and adaptable approaches regarding administrative functions.

  • Strong organization and administrative skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, find information quickly, complete work, and return to critical tasks in the midst of multiple interruptions
  • Ability to independently manage time and tasks
  • Strong sense of customer service and team orientation
  • Advanced experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Visio, and internet applications including familiarity with SharePoint
  • Strong sense of customer service with a positive attitude

Who should apply?
High school diploma or GED; AND two or more years providing professional-level administrative support to a senior-level manager, including experience communicating to diverse audiences

OR

Three or more years of progressively responsible, recent experience providing professional-level administrative support to a senior-level manager and supporting others in getting their work done

OR

Formal education will substitute for year-for-year experience.
