In this role, you'll be working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and provide our patients with routine physical, emotional, psychological, or rehabilitative care. You will encourage and assist patients, as well as participate in a variety of recreational and social activities that promote the well-being and recovery of our patients.
Schedule will be as follows: GPU Sunday / Monday off - Dayshift
Some of what you'll do
- Provide client care to patients
- Lead, co-lead groups, and document participation
- Manage and coordinate the safety and security of patient's personal belongings
- Responsible for the collection and distribution of patient and ward mail
- Maintain ward environmental safety by completing and tracking work orders for repair and/or removal of defective equipment and environmental hazards
- Maintain adequate ward supplies (forms, commissary stock)
- Maintain equipment inventory
- Accompany/transport patients to appointments in the community
- Accompany patients to off ward activities
What we're looking for
- Knowledge of Behavioral Health/Recovery principles
- Ability to use de-escalation skills
- Maintain a Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR)
- Ability to communicate and comprehend (through oral and written forms of communication)
Who should apply
Professional with registration as a Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) or Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) in Washington State is required.
AND
A High School Diploma or GED AND three years of experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
