We are looking for a professional and customer service-oriented Driver Manager to oversee daily delivery operations. As Driver Manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the Transportation Team. You will be responsible for driving employee achievement through a focus on accountability, capability and engagement; ensuring customer value through exceptional service and high availability of quality products; and delivering shareholder returns through profitable and sustainable growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

  • Build a culture of safety
  • Coach driver performance using company KPI’s and driver scorecards
  • Conduct accident investigations and driver coaching
  • Actively support all company safety programs and initiatives

Team Leadership

  • Train and develop drivers to ensure on time and in full delivery
  • Drive staff accountability and capability through clear direction, open communication, and a strong focus on training and development
  • Conduct weekly ride alongs
  • Recruit and retain quality drivers
  • Manage driver scheduling and overtime to balance customer and shareholder needs

Business Management

  • Achieve business objectives across the areas of employee engagement, customer satisfaction and shareholder returns
  • Monitor, verify, and process weekly timecard management
  • Assist in the development and execution of the Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Driver or Delivery Manager
  • At least two years of experience in the Transportation industry
  • At least two years of direct management experience including managing drivers
  • CDL preferred

  • The employee is constantly required to use hands to operate a computer and keyboard, and other office equipment.
  • On occasion, the employee is required to remain seated for extended periods of time, with frequent walking, standing, or bending and most of the time being out in the field visiting retail locations.
  • The employee is required to have personal mobility, manual dexterity and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to access the general office environment, retail locations, quarries, and to operate a motor vehicle.
  • The employee is constantly required to communicate in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Travel to attend retail locations, training, meetings and conferences
