What it takes to be a Drill Press Operator with MEC:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to train and work with others (Team Concept).
- Reliability
What you will be doing as a Drill Press Operator:
- Reads blueprint, job order or specifications to determine dimesnsions and tolerances
- Lifts work piece and positions and secures it in fixture, between wheels and other method used to machin or shape part
- Starts automatic cylce of machine or performs manually as required
- Uses micrometers, indicators, depth gauge, fixed gauges, etc. to insure quality
- May be required to perform machine setups for secondary operators uch as drilling grinding and deburring.
- Other duties as assigned
