As the person leading the three cohorts of 15-17 students each that will be participating in the program, the Coordinator will have the principal responsibility for helping each student navigate the campus and life challenges that cause first generation students to leave school at higher rates than their peers. The Coordinator will also manage, recruit and supervise peer leaders for the program, work closely with core business and student support services such as Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, CMI, FYAC, University Housing, Graham Health Center, Academic Success Center, Writing Center, Academic Advising, etc.

During the six months before DREAM Initiative students are expected to start class in the fall of 2023, the Coordinator will support and assist the Vice President for Enrollment Management on all matters related to recruiting, enrolling and retaining undergraduate students participating in the DREAM Initiative program. This includes collaborating with selected high schools to maintain partnerships with Oakland University for the purpose of increasing first year enrollment and persistence from the identified schools.
