About Caddington Grove

Caddington Grove Care Home in Dunstable is a purpose built, state of the art 66 bed care home. Due to an expansion of our services we are currently looking to recruit experienced Domestic/ Housekeeping Assistant (Home Helper) to join our dedicated team.

The ideal applicants will have previous experience of working within a care setting, however full training will be given so if you are a caring person with a desire to help others we would like to hear from you.

Summary of the role:

• To ensure the supply of both clean laundry and housekeeping service throughout the home and contribute to the provision of cleaning, laundry and domestic services to the home.
• Be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Home and ensure that the laundry of residents is to the highest standard, including well-presented ironed clothes and bedding.
• Ensure that residents’ laundry is collected and correctly labelled to minimise lost items of clothing.
• Work with the Homemakers to ensure personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner
• Assist homemakers to ensure that daily/weekly housekeeping tasks are completed as required and regular deep cleans are programmed to ensure the presentation of the Home is always at its best
• Operate the washing machine/driers and other equipment to launder household clothes, linen and residents’ personal clothing.
• Understand stock control and stock rotation and ensure ordering of agreed stock in a timely manner.

• Adaptable, friend, polite courteous and caring
• Experience in a care home environment
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations

Salary: £9.52 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dunstable, Bedfordshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
