Are you a dog lover who lives for animals and has a strong commitment to excellent customer service?

Currently we are in search of a few exceptional candidates to join us as Dog Care Specialists. As a Dog Care Specialist, you will be responsible for the care and supervision of dogs on both walks and overnight care. Specific duties required of the position include:

• Dog obsessed! Dogs must bring you absolute joy! Candidate MUST possess a strong love and respect for dogs.
• Attentive to the details in their work, observant of what is going on around them and AWARE at all times to ensure the safety of all of our clients
• Responsible individuals who are on time, dependable and conscientious in the performance of their work and are able to apply common sense when needed
• Articulate in their oral and written communication and respectful in their interactions with others
• Enjoy photography and be able to capture the moment
• Able to work as part of a team to provide the best possible level of care and bringing out the best in others and ourselves
• Experience working with a variety of dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Be comfortable working outside in all weather: heat, rain and snow
• Be prepared to accommodate up to 3 dogs per walk
• Be willing and able to work a minimum of 25 hours a week or more
• Work well without supervision
• Provide meals, water, and medications as required to our clients.
• Be able to make at least a six months commitment to working for POOCHi
• Own an iPhone or Android smartphone
• Must be 18 years old
• Minimum 1 year experience working with dogs

Strong preference is given to candidates who have pursued a professional interest in dog care, including completing coursework to become certified as a dog trainer or veterinary technician, experience working with dogs in groups, or experience volunteering for animal welfare organizations. Prior experience as a dog walker or dog handler in another organization is a benefit provided it is the right experience. We do not hire independent contractors. All POOCHi dog walkers are actual employees of POOCHi. This is a W2 job, which means that taxes are deducted from your paycheck each week.
