These services include everything from day care to boarding, training to grooming, and home care to veterinary care.

Are you a self-starter that would love to get a brand new training program up and running?! Then this is a fantastic opportunity for you. This will be a brand new service at our facility, therefore our ideal candidate needs to be a highly-trained, motivated, and sales driven individual!

Reports to: General Manager

Schedule: Full-time

Starting Pay Rate: $18.00 hourly + commission

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supports Mission, Vision and Values of Destination Pet.
  • Create a training plan for the dog.
  • Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
  • Be patient with a stubborn dog
  • Teach pet parents about dog behavior.
  • Understand a pet parent’s needs.
  • Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.
  • Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.
  • Listen to pet parent concerns.
  • Performs add-on services as needed.
  • Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.
  • Completes all required training and attends training sessions as needed/assigned.
  • Treats customers, guests and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all customers encountered while performing work duties.
  • Assists other associates as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

  • Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!
  • Certification or license in dog training.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of dog commands.
  • Knowledge of different dog breeds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to create a plan of action for pet parents.
  • Ability to work well with dogs.
  • Dog competitions is preferred.
  • Ability to identify problems.
  • Professional dog training experience preferred.
  • Displays a professional manner at all times.

Physical:

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
  • Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
  • Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
