Transportation Dispatcher
2nd Shift Dispatcher Sunday-Wednesdsay

Work Schedule: Sunday 6am-6:00pm- Monday 12:30-11:30- Tuesday and Wednesday 1:30pm to 11:30pm

WDS Logistics LLC is a local messenger/courier company specializing in final mile delivery. We provide foot messengers, vans and trucks for delivery service to our customers. 2dn shift dispatcher will work in our Woodside NY office and will have focused efforts on our customers while working alone throughout the night. This individual will insure that drivers meet their expected pick-up and delivery schedules. This individual will receive and sort freight for next day deliveries. This individual will also support our other locations in the tri-state area.

Responsibilities:

• Insure timely pick ups and deliveries meeting all customer requirements.
• Answer driver and customer calls.
• Entering customer orders.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives.
• Develop a strong relationship with drivers.
• Effectively communicate with customers all phases of the delivery process, reporting pick-up/delivery times, delays or other delivery issues in a timely manner in accordance with customer established procedures.
• Receive inbound freight.
• Insure the overnight sort is complete.
• Support requests from our other tri-state locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Must have a ”can-do” attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have good customer service skills
• Must be able to work alone and handle all decisions
• Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Must have strong computer skills.
• Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
• Team player and leader by example

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Transportation Dispatching: 3 years (Required)
• Warehouse distribution: 2 years (Preferred)
• Call center: 1 year (Preferred)
