About Chi Omega:

Chi Omega is looking for a crew member to assist with kitchen clean-up and other foodservice duties on weekdays. You’d be joining a dedicated and small but mighty team. Chi Omega Association is an organization that provides housing and meals to students of UC Berkeley.

Job Description: Kitchen Crew Member (40 hrs/week)

The Kitchen Crew Member is an entry level position assigned to assist kitchen staff in the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and basic preparation of meals for student members of Chi Omega.

Basic Schedule:

Monday 1pm to 9pm (8 hrs)

Tuesday 1pm to 9pm (8 hrs)

Wednesday 1pm to 9pm (8 hrs)

Thursday 1pm to 9pm (8 hrs)

Friday 1pm to 9pm (8 hrs)

Responsibilities:

1. Clean all countertops, stoves, ovens, grills, hoods, and appliances.

2. Sweep/mop kitchen floors and mats daily.

3. Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

4. Clean dining room tables and chairs. Clean beverage cart and steam table. Leave dining room in pristine condition for next shift.

5. Empty all trash in dining room/kitchen areas. Re-line trash containers.

6. Take blue recycling bins to curb on Monday nights.

7. Keep area around dumpster clean (pick-up trash/hose off cement around dumpsters and side of house).

8. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils as necessary.

9. Assist with food preparation needs and the clean-up of dining room and kitchen, as well as other areas of the Chapter House when needed.

10. Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.

11. ServeSafe or Food Service Handler Certification required (training can be provided).

• Kitchen crew may be expected to work occasional weekends for special events in addition to their regular schedule and will be paid accordingly.
• We take health and safety very seriously at the Chi Omega Association. As such we require all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and have increased health and safety protocols during this time.
• Being under the influence or the usage of alcohol or drugs while on duty is prohibited and reason for immediate termination.
