Director of Training and Technical Support Position Purpose

To provide leadership and forward innovation for all technical services and to direct and develop our Technical Support, Technical Training & Operational Training programs for all required employees and all manufacturer brands the company represents within Kirby-Smith. Plus, plan and manage college recruiting efforts and activities. Develop and maintain a plan for customer training. Create lifetime relationships, improve customer satisfaction and profitability by researching and implementing effective methods to deliver consistent results, and be an indispensable resource.

Director of Training and Technical Support Essential Functions

• Communicates and supports the Company’s Mission, Vision, Culture, and Core Values.
• Plan, develop, and implement ongoing training programs for service technicians and support personnel.
• Plan, develop, and implement technical communicator field support, including creating data sets for training programs.
• Maintain and develop training materials that are relevant to the current learning styles using a variety of methods.
• Ensure all company, regulatory, and training documentation records are up-to-date and available for validation.
• Ensure all manufacturers’ Learning Management Systems are up-to-date, accurate, and utilized.
• Provide advanced Technical Training to service personnel at all branch locations.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Technical Colleges and Trade Schools.
• Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees know of training and development events.
• Manage the recruiting department; develop and implement presentations, recruiting events, and recruiting processes.
• Develop and maintain a plan for customer training.
• Oversee and develop the entire team supporting the Company’s Training and Technical Support Program.

Director of Training and Technical Support Minimum Qualifications

• College degree in a related field or equivalent industry-related experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Background in management and technical training.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Travel up to 70%

Director of Training and Technical Support Physical Requirements

• Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors.
• Physical ability to provide training for extended hours and to mount and dismount equipment.
• Ability to sit or drive for extended periods.
