Summary: The Hanover Public Schools is looking for an Assistant Director of Student Services. The Assistant Director of Student Services position is a district-level administrator. Qualifications: Massachusetts licensure as an Administrator of Special Education and/or Supervisor/Director of Special Education required.Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience working in the field of special education.Experience as a Team Chairperson or Special Education Coordinator preferred.Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field required. Experience as an administrator or other leadership position in a public school district preferred.Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the LEA and point of contact, in collaboration with the Director of Student Services for students who attend Out of District placements.

Support IEP Teams with recommendations for Out of District placements or services.Work collaboratively with district leadership on the vision for in-district Special Education and related student needs to meet the increasing requests/expectations for all student support services. Provide oversight and supervision of the specialized programming within Hanover Public Schools including Landmark and NECC partnerships. Collaborate effectively with parents and act as a resource on a variety of issues related to student support services. Oversee and support the scheduling of Extended School Year (ESY) programming.Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding developing special education issues, changes in the laws and case law, and educational methods of educating students with disabilities.Assist the Director of Student Services in the supervision and evaluation of Special Education staff and direct service providers.Work collaboratively with the Director of Student Services to resolve conflicts related to special education including participation in mediation and BSEA processes.

Perform any other duties and assume responsibilities as directed by the Director of Student Services and Superintendent of Schools.
