    Job Summary

    The Student Services Specialist provides customer service to applicants for admission to Augusta University in the form of data entry, imaging, and application processing within the University's Student Information (BANNER), Customer Relationship Management (Slate), and imaging systems (Xtender). This position processes applications based on the admissions requirements related to specific application types. During peak times, this position assists with processing related to residency, transfer catalog, transcript, evaluations, etc.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Process applications for all incoming students from multiple systems. Responsible for data entry into student information system as well as updating and maintaining all student information in appropriate university systems. (BANNER/Slate)
    • Data entry and scanning of documents into Banner, Slate, and Xtender respectively.
    • Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
    • Maintain student files by managing flow of new documents, tracking transcripts and updating checklists for all applicants and students.
    • Run reports to perform quality control checks on data entry as needed to check files and/or database for data accuracy and completeness of files.
    • Perform special projects, temporary duties and all other related duties/tasks as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal organization and three years' experience performing administrative duties in a professional office setting.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Associate's degree is preferred; Experience in Banner, Xtender, reporting systems, transfer articulation or other student information systems. Ability to work efficiently.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    Timely and correctly updating student records. Ability to maintain student records in Banner and SRS. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, customer service and multitasking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively communicate with diverse populations. Knowledge of AU policies and procedures with the ability to explain policies and procedures. Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks; determine appropriate solutions; and work independently.

    Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
    Pay Grade: 8
    Salary Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $15.63
    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
